The Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), FCT Chapter, and Executive Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, has paid an official visit to the FCT Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Commandant Olusola Odumosu, as part of efforts to strengthen security collaboration and inter-agency synergy across the Federal Capital Territory.
According to a statement from the Office of the Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Chairman, the strategic engagement focused on enhancing cooperation between local authorities and security agencies, particularly in the areas of grassroots intelligence sharing and community security.
The statement said the meeting also centred on measures to safeguard critical infrastructure and strengthen security across AMAC communities and other parts of the FCT.
Maikalangu and Commandant Odumosu discussed the importance of effective information sharing and closer coordination between security agencies and grassroots authorities in addressing security challenges and protecting residents.
The ALGON FCT Chairman reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to supporting security agencies through strengthened community engagement and timely sharing of relevant intelligence.
According to the Office of the Chief Press Secretary, both leaders expressed their shared commitment to deepening inter-agency cooperation and ensuring that security efforts are effectively coordinated at the grassroots level.
They further reaffirmed their resolve to work together towards safeguarding lives and property, protecting critical infrastructure and promoting peace across the Federal Capital Territory.
The meeting underscores the growing importance of collaboration between Area Councils and security agencies in building a safer and more secure FCT for all residents.
