Former Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, has reportedly died, according to SaharaReporters, which quoted sources close to his family.
The online news platform reported on Monday, October 19, 2026, that the sources confirmed the development, although details surrounding the circumstances of his reported death remained unclear as of the time of filing the report.
One of the sources reportedly confirmed the news, stating that the former governor was dead.
The development comes months after rumours of Uduaghan’s death circulated on social media in June, prompting his family and media aide to dismiss the claims.
At the time, Henry Unini, the former governor’s media aide, publicly debunked the reports, insisting that Uduaghan was alive and receiving medical attention.
“I can tell you for a fact that Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan is alive,” Unini said in response to the earlier reports.
He criticised the circulation of unverified information about the former governor’s death, stressing that such sensitive news should not be published without proper confirmation.
Unini also acknowledged that Uduaghan had been experiencing health challenges but maintained that he was receiving medical care and recuperating.
“There is no cause for alarm whatsoever,” the media aide had assured the public at the time.
He subsequently thanked friends, well-wishers and residents of Delta State who contacted the family to verify the former governor’s condition, urging them to continue praying for him and his family.
However, SaharaReporters reported on Monday that sources close to the family had confirmed Uduaghan’s death.
As of the time of filing this report, further details surrounding his reported death had yet to be made available.
Note: The report is based on information attributed to sources by SaharaReporters. Official confirmation from the family was not included in the supplied report.
