The lawmaker representing Ife Federal Constituency of Osun State in the House of Representatives, Hon. Taofeek Abimbola Ajilesoro, has been selected as a recipient of the Motherland Heroes Award 2026.
The recognition, organised by Miss Motherland Nigeria Pageant Ltd, is in honour of Nigerians whose leadership, achievements and contributions have made meaningful impacts in their communities and the country at large.
In a letter dated September 10, 2026, and signed by the National Director of Miss Motherland Nigeria, Crown Prince Timmy Abiri, sighted by Oxford Reporters, the organisers described Ajilesoro’s selection as a recognition of his commitment to grassroots development, community empowerment, infrastructure advancement and the welfare of his constituents.
According to the organisers, the Motherland Heroes Award was established to celebrate individuals who have demonstrated exemplary leadership, meaningful service to humanity, community development, cultural preservation and commitment to the advancement of Nigeria.
The organisers said the award is based on merit, demonstrated impact, achievements, good deeds and service to humanity.
“Your leadership and dedication to grassroots development, community empowerment, infrastructure advancement and the welfare of your people exemplify the values which the Motherland Heroes Award seeks to celebrate,” the letter stated.
The organisation added that Ajilesoro’s selection was not simply an honour but an appreciation of what it described as the positive difference his service and leadership have continued to make in the lives of the people.
The physical presentation of the award is scheduled to take place during the Grand Finale of Miss Motherland Nigeria 2026 on Friday, September 18, 2026, at The Grand Junction Luxury Hall, Landmark Towers, Victoria Island, Lagos State.
The organisers said Ajilesoro or a duly designated representative would be expected to receive the recognition during the event.
They congratulated the lawmaker on the honour, expressing hope that his continued leadership and public service would inspire greater development, unity and prosperity in Ife Federal Constituency, Osun State and Nigeria.
Ajilesoro also serves as Chairman of the House Committee on the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI).
