The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has reconciled and disbursed a total of N12.3 billion to 6,756 retirees under its pension scheme, clearing all outstanding payment batches submitted by 12 Pension Fund Administrators (PFAs).
According to a chart posted by the Nigeria Customs Service on its official social media platforms, sighted by Oxford Reporters, the development marks the completion of the reconciliation and payment of pension arrears owed to retired officers and personnel across the 12 pension fund administrators.
The NCS Pension Desk disclosed that all 12 submitted PFA batches had been reconciled and paid, bringing the pension backlog clearance process to a close.
The chart indicated that a total of 6,756 pensioners had received payments, with all 12 batches successfully cleared as of the latest update.
Premium Pension recorded the highest disbursement, receiving N4,044,733,736 for 2,312 pensioners. It was followed by Stanbic IBTC Pension Managers, which disbursed N3,687,938,186 to 1,907 retirees.
Access-ARM Pension Managers ranked third, with N2,315,041,842 paid to 1,251 pensioners, while Leadway Pensure disbursed N978,297,271 to 542 retirees.
Trustfund Pensions paid N521,239,562 to 280 pensioners, while FCMB Pensions disbursed N369,011,752 to 215 beneficiaries.
Other pension administrators involved in the exercise included NLPC Pension Fund Administrators, which paid N205,369,055 to 111 retirees; Crusader Sterling Pensions, with N124,021,933 disbursed to 74 pensioners; and Veritas Glanvills Pensions, which paid N31,970,672 to 28 beneficiaries.

The NCS chart further revealed that 81 per cent of the total amount disbursed passed through three pension administrators: Premium Pension, Stanbic IBTC and Access-ARM.
It also showed that the average payment per pensioner across the 12 cleared batches stood at approximately N1.83 million.
According to the payment timeline published by the Service, the reconciliation and disbursement exercise began in May and reached full clearance in August, representing a four-month process.
Premium Pension recorded the largest single batch payment of N4.04 billion, while the most recent batch, involving Crusader Pensions, was cleared on August 28.
The development highlights the outcome of the Nigeria Customs Service’s efforts to reconcile outstanding pension obligations and ensure that retirees receive payments due to them.
The chart was published under the Nigeria Customs Service’s pension desk initiative, with the message emphasising transparency in pension remittances, accountability, integrity and service.
