The Executive Chairman of Kwali Area Council, Hon. Nuhu Daniel Kwali, has held discussions with the management of Galaxy Backbone Limited on areas of cooperation aimed at improving infrastructure, digital connectivity and public service delivery across the council.
The meeting took place on Thursday, October 8, 2026, when the chairman paid a courtesy visit to the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Galaxy Backbone Limited, Professor Ibrahim Adepoju Adeyanju.
According to a press statement by Rilwan Makka, Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Chairman of Kwali Area Council, the discussions focused on practical ways to strengthen grassroots governance through improved connectivity, efficient data management and the adoption of appropriate technology solutions.
During the meeting, Professor Adeyanju explained the mandate of Galaxy Backbone Limited, which includes providing connectivity, data storage and processing infrastructure, as well as promoting data sovereignty.

He also highlighted the importance of deploying suitable digital applications and technology platforms to enhance efficiency and productivity in public institutions.
The Galaxy Backbone chief executive assured the Kwali Area Council chairman of the organisation’s readiness to provide technical guidance and support within the scope of its mandate.
As part of the outcome of the meeting, a six-member technical committee comprising three representatives each from Galaxy Backbone Limited and Kwali Area Council was constituted to identify areas of cooperation and recommend a framework for implementation.
The committee will be led by Bashiru Abdullahi, Head of Technical Services and Engagement, on behalf of Galaxy Backbone Limited, while Emmanuel Habila, Head of Information and Public Relations, will lead the Kwali Area Council team.
The committee has been given one week to submit its report, with its assignment covering digital connectivity, infrastructure, data management and processing, applications and other technology-driven solutions capable of improving public services and expanding access to essential resources across the council.
Speaking after the meeting, Hon. Nuhu Daniel Kwali expressed appreciation to the management of Galaxy Backbone Limited for the warm reception and constructive engagement.
He noted that consultations with relevant institutions were necessary to identify practical solutions to governance challenges and create more opportunities for residents of the area council.
The chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to initiatives that strengthen grassroots governance, improve public service delivery and promote sustainable development across Kwali Area Council.
