The Executive Chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council, Hon. Kasim Mohammed, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to promoting unity, peace, inclusive governance and sustainable development in the Area Council.
According to a press statement by Muhammad Isah Hassan, Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Gwagwalada Area Council, issued on Thursday, October 1, 2026, the Chairman made the commitment as Nigeria celebrates its Independence Day.
Mohammed congratulated the people of Gwagwalada, the Federal Capital Territory and Nigerians across the country, while calling on citizens to embrace unity, peace and mutual understanding as essential foundations for national development.
The Chairman also reiterated his administration’s determination to deliver quality services, promote development and improve the living conditions of residents across Gwagwalada Area Council.
According to the statement, Mohammed expressed optimism about a peaceful and successful electoral year that would bring meaningful benefits to the people of the FCT and Nigeria.
He further urged citizens to remain committed to peace, democratic values and the collective progress of the nation, while assuring residents of continued dedication to people-oriented policies and the delivery of dividends of democracy.
The Chairman wished Nigerians a peaceful, prosperous and memorable Independence Day celebration as the country marks another milestone in its independence journey.
“Happy Independence Day, Nigeria!” the statement said.
