Ambassador Dr. Kate Opara has called on Nigerians, particularly women, to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, saying the President deserves a second term to complete the projects and reforms initiated by his administration.
Opara made the call while speaking with journalists during the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council in Abuja.
She expressed confidence in the President’s leadership, urging Nigerians to exercise patience with his administration and allow him to consolidate on the policies and programmes already introduced.
According to her, the removal of the fuel subsidy, improvements in road infrastructure and the introduction of the student loan scheme are among the initiatives she believes deserve continued attention and support.
“There’s a whole lot. Apart from the subsidy, apart from the road networks, apart from the student loan, there are a whole lot,” she said.
Opara, who spoke while using a wheelchair, said her decision to publicly advocate for Tinubu’s re-election reflected her belief that the President should be given the opportunity to complete what he had started.
“For you to see somebody like me on a wheelchair coming out to say we should allow him, I want Nigerians to allow him to finish what he has started,” she said.
She expressed optimism that the country would experience further improvements if Tinubu secured another four-year term, adding that she believed the future would be better by the grace of God.
The APC supporter also appealed to Nigerians to be patient with the administration, noting that citizens should avoid expecting immediate results from every government policy.
“My strong message to Nigerians is for us to have patience. We are always in a hurry. We should allow him to finish,” she said.
She further stressed the importance of prayer, urging Nigerians to continue praying for the country while the government works to address the nation’s challenges.
Opara particularly called on Nigerian women to mobilise support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general election, expressing confidence in the President’s ability to continue his programmes if re-elected.
“I’m calling all Nigerian women to vote Mr. President come 2027,” she said.
